Cooperative Mediation

Cooperative Mediation is a voluntary process of two parties making an agreement, as facilitated by a neutral third party.

It can be considered as an alternative dispute resolution that can have both parties avoid going to court, saving the time and financial costs of prolonged litigation.

Cooperative Mediation can be useful in situations such as:

  • Cooperative Divorce
  • Condo Disputes
  • Landlord-Tenant Disputes
  • Co-Habitation Disputes
  • Business Shareholder or Partner Disputes
  • Workplace Conflicts
  • Family Disputes

Advantages of Mediation

  • Since both parties are seeking a resolution, this process can be much faster than going to court, and working within the court's scheduling.
  • Since the hours exhausted are less than court, any hourly legal fees will also be reduced accordingly.
  • Mediation dialog is private and is not part of the public record, as it would have been at court.
  • Rather than getting a top-down decision from a judge, each party has an equal hand in shaping the outcome of the agreement
